Lemken Unveils a New Precision Planter, the Azurit 9

November 25, 2015

Ralf Bornemann, product manager for Lemken, introduces the company's Azurit 9 precision planter at Agritechnica 2015. DeltaRow differentiates Lemken technology from traditional approaches, in which seeds are placed in single rows. The Lemken designers have instead opted for two staggered twin rows spaced about 5 inches apart. This gives individual plants 70% more surface area for growth and ensures better access to water and nutrients.

The Azurit allows corn, soybeans, sunflowers and rapeseed to be sown with great precision and efficiency at forward speeds of about 9.3 mph.
