Strip-Till with Precision Fertilizer Rig
Tech Specs: The Bigham strip-till rig easily handles large volumes of crop residue while providing the combination of multiple operations to reduce field trips. Row unit mounts to 7x7 inch tool bar. Rugged rear gang is welded from structural tube and may be equipped with virtually any combination of attachments. The extended frame promotes maximum residue and soil flow between tillage components. Tool bars are available in any width (up to 60 feet), any row spacing and in any configuration to meet a farmer’s needs. Available with optional auto reset linkage.
WOW Factor: Prepare an optimal seedbed while placing fertilizer in the zone. Precision placement allows farmers to put fertilizer where they need it for maximum plant uptake while reducing application volume and decreasing runoff risk. Disturb less soil and residue for conservation of water, soil and organic material and eliminate wasteful multiple tillage and chemical application passes.
Gladiator Strip-Tillage System
Tech Specs: The Gladiator from Kuhn Krause delivers maximum efficiency and productivity in high residue conditions while providing precise nutrient placement. The system offers on-row conservation tillage, precise nutrient placement and nonstop seedbed conditioning while reducing adjustment and maintenance time from field to field for maximum profitability. The fixed frame toolbar and ST-PRO Row Units contour to ground surface conditions allowing the shanks to consistently operate at the customer determined depth. The exclusive Drop Zone nutrient placement system offers the flexibility to adjust fertilizer placement depths from field to field. Depending on fertilizer product configuration (liquid, dry or gas), the range of fertilizer placement is 5-11 inches deep with a minimum of 1.5 inches between products. This allows the operator to adjust the fertilizer depth independent of the shank operating depth. Available with 3 point or pull-type hitch in 4-24 row configurations.
WOW Factor: Offers on-row conservation tillage, precise nutrient placement and nonstop seedbed conditioning while reducing adjustment and maintenance time from field to field for maximum profitability. The ST-PRO Row Units require no daily maintenance and are easily adjusted for various soil types and residue conditions, leaving an ideal seedbed.
StripTracker
Tech Specs: Thurston Mfg./Blu-Jet’s new StripTracker features a resigned gulling system for flex, a 10-inch working depth and tank mounts to accommodate Montag 6- or 9-ton dry fertilizer boxes or 1,700 gallon liquid tanks. A new lift allows for 24 inches of travel and an optional nurse tank hitch. Row components operate independently from one another, allowing the shank to independently handle obstructions, providing for more accurate placement in the field. Button stop depth control, along with pin-adjust gauge wheels.
WOW Factor: The first strip-till rig on the market to incorporate on-board fertilizer application with stretched and staggered rows to help with residue and soil flow through the machine.
3100 SoilWarrior
Tech Specs: The new 3100 series SoilWarrior from Environmental Tillage Systems is a complete, construction-grade zone till system. The unit can measure up to 60 feet wide, apply as many as four products in one pass and can be configured with SoilWarrior X (single or dual coulters) or N (single coulter with detachable shank/knife) row units. The base model (3120) comes with 8 row units on a rigid 20-foot toolbar. It can be expanded to 12 with a 30-foot folding toolbar. Rows can be spaced 20, 22 or 30 inches depending on the machine configuration. Other notable features include 540 single track Trelleborg tires that reduce compaction and steerable cart to ensure operators stay on the zone.
WOW Factor: A single dry fertilizer tank carries up to 160 bushels of product and is mounted to a robust cart frame. The stainless steel meter body and variable-rate technology ensure precise placement of nutrients in the tilled zone.
