Keith Wendte manages data collection and analysis for his family’s 7,000-acre family farm in Effingham County, Ill. Wendte had an impressive 37-year career as an engineer in product development and innovation for International Harvester/Case/CNH Industrial. Since 1994, he’s been overseeing all precision operations for the family farm, including the creation of the prescription fertilizer maps, planning crop rotations, analyzing plot yield data, and assimilating soil test results from an office — more than 200 miles away.
