SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Raven Industries, Inc. announced that Stephanie Herseth Sandlin will become the company's General Counsel and Vice President — Corporate Development, effective September 1, 2012. This is a new position at the company.
"As Raven grows, we recognize that legal, compliance, government relations and corporate responsibility initiatives can be more effectively accomplished from within our organization," explained Daniel A. Rykhus, president and chief executive officer.
He added, "Stephanie brings a wealth of professional experience to our company and to this position given her legal career and service in Congress. Her knowledge of the law, public policy expertise and professional relationships will add significant value to our corporate development strategy. We're pleased to welcome Stephanie Herseth Sandlin to the Raven team."
Ms. Herseth Sandlin served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2004-2011. Over the past year, as a partner in a law firm, she represented clients, such as Raven Industries, on legislative and regulatory matters concerning technology and innovation in agriculture, bioenergy and manufacturing.
Stephanie is a member of the South Dakota Bar. She graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1997 and was a law clerk for both the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the District of South Dakota.
