Question: What types of warranty coverage is offered for precision farming products at your dealership and how do you manage/process claims?
Answers:
“For Outback products, their warranty is handled as an exchange program. I call their customer service and file a form online and they ship me a replacement console via next day air. I then put the defective unit in the box and return it with the return label they provide. I have not had any issues other than with the “electronic box” with the Outback system under the warranty period.
“For Versatile and Raven products, it’s the same as most other warranties on machinery. We diagnose the problem, order the new console through parts, pay for the new console on our parts statement and submit a warranty claim (including quite a bit of explanation and photos). If or when the warranty is approved, we receive a credit on our parts statement, but this can sometimes take a couple of months.
“I personally like the way that Outback handles it better. However, they only have the precision stuff. The way they handle warranties would not work for any of the machinery that the other companies handle. Therefore, it must be handled through the channels that are already established.”

“Our precision farming products carry a 2 year warranty from Trimble and Case IH, and I run them through the warranty process just like I would any other equipment.”
