At this week’s Agritechnica show in Hannover, Germany, Precision Farming Dealer caught up with Joe Denniston, vice president of Trimble Navigation’s Agricultural Division, to weigh in on what the pending acquisition of Canada-based ag consulting firm, Agri-Trend, will mean for both companies and their dealers.
Denniston says he expects that in the future, dealers will be able to take fuller advantage of agronomic opportunities with customers, but precision ag specialists will still be relied upon as the primary hardware sales and service touch points for farm customers.
Agri-Trend’s network of over 200 specialists spread throughout the U.S. and Canada includes over 110 independent coaches specializing in agronomy, precision farming, crop marketing and farm business management.
