This week at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kent., Case IH introduced three new Advanced Farming Systems (AFS) products: AFS RTK+, ElectriSteer and AFS Connect Data Sharing.
Led by AFS RTK+, the first proprietary cellular-RTK network offered by an original equipment manufacturer, these new products help make the benefits of precision agriculture technology more attainable to producers of all sizes. From managing inputs during field preparation through harvest, these new capabilities add to the company’s full suite of AFS offerings across its entire product lineup.
Cellular-Based Correction Guidance
Available for purchase through participating Case IH dealers, an AFS RTK+ subscription allows producers to achieve sub-inch, repeatable accuracy through a network of dealer-supported base stations throughout the United States and Canada.
Cellular guidance correction signals alleviate line-of-sight issues, including hills, valleys, trees, buildings or other structures — offering consistent accuracy at any distance within the network. AFS RTK+ delivers seamless connectivity and year-over-year, repeatable sub-inch accuracy by expanding the reach of existing service signals. This means greater field efficiency and the reduction of application overlaps and skips even in the most narrow of rows.
“AFS RTK+ allows producers to easily achieve sub-inch accuracy for farming practices that require the highest level of precision, such as strip till or bedding,” said Leo Bose, Case IH AFS Marketing manager. “Better yet, they can rely on this secure, Case IH network solution to support their entire fleet.”
Once dealers install new Network Stations, they are networked together to provide a seamless coverage area. Case IH AFS RTK+ is a cellular-based correction guidance that will provide sub-inch repeatable accuracy.
AFS Connect Data Sharing
Another new feature offered through AFS Connect takes existing two-way wireless-file-transfer capabilities to the next level. The AFS Connect portal now includes a cloud-based data-sharing feature that gives producers an easy way to seamlessly transfer agronomic data to and from trusted third-party providers, including agronomist or decision-making software services. Producers now have the ability to approve and direct the sharing of yield maps, prescriptions, guidance line patterns and much more from any computer or tablet connected to the Internet. This allows producers to make farm management decisions on the go.
“Gone are the days of handing off USB drives,” said Bose. “With AFS Connect Data Sharing, producers can collaborate with their trusted third-party providers to make real-time decisions — saving time and money.”
Additionally, Case IH is actively partnering with cloud-based agronomic decision-making software companies to give producers even more options to connect with their trusted third-party providers. Case IH has extended an open invitation to any third-party companies interested in partnering at developer.cnhindustrial.com.
ElectriSteer
The new Case IH ElectriSteer universal steering motor connects with the AFS Pro 700 monitor to provide autoguidance for both used and new machines across all equipment manufacturers. Within minutes of installation, ElectriSteer provides high torque and a positive drive with whisper-quiet operation. Additional features include operating speeds from 1½ to 15-plus miles per hour, including reverse operation, guidance patterns, swath algorithms, nudge and remark functionality, plus added aggressiveness during guidance line acquisition. Easily transferring from one vehicle to the next, ElectriSteer is available for more than 700 vehicle makes/models and can be configured for ultraslow operations.
“ElectriSteer is a quick, easy and affordable way for producers to realize the benefits of autoguidance for all their vehicles,” added Bose.
