As farm equipment and independent precision farming dealers continue to evaluate the potential payback of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in agriculture, some see the potential of this technology as a decision-making tool for farm customers.
Matt Rohlik
But turning this potential into profit remains a mystery for many dealers and understanding the realities of the market is essential to taking flight with UAVs.
Matt Rohlik is CEO of Ag Integrators, a precision farming service retailer based in Willmar, Minn. He has extensive experience selling UAV systems, along with collection and analysis of aerial imagery for farm customers.
Rohlik also helped launch Midwest Aerial Technologies in 2014 and spent 7 years as the Integrated Solutions Manager as a multi-store farm equipment dealership group in Minnesota.
Working in both a large dealership and independent retailer setting, Rohlik has a broad base of knowledge and expertise on implementing aerial imagery platforms — manned and unmanned — to collect, store and evaluate precision data.
“I’m much more interested in the service side, but the UAVs have the sex appeal and are the attention grabbers,” Rohlik says. “Ultimately, farmers still want to know what their return on investment is with this technology.”
In this webinar event, Rohlik shares tips and tactics dealers should consider when getting into the UAV business, to include defined objectives, regulatory considerations and technology alternatives.
