TUCSON, Ariz. — Since 2009, CropTrak has used The Weather Underground API for our customers on a global scale. To enhance service levels for our customers and to leverage IBM’s investment in machine learning for agriculture, CropTrak is upgrading to the Weather Company’s corporate SUN API with built-in agricultural capabilities.
The Weather Company is the parent company of Weather.com, Weather Underground and the Weather Channel. With the recent purchase by IBM, agriculture can expect that Watson, the machine learning engine, will be coming to the field to help farmers.
CropTrak is excited to leverage the same weather capabilities and accuracy that large organizations utilize to optimize their operations. Additionally, our customers will gain access to advanced agriculture analytics to even better inform their decisions.
The move between the two APIs will be seamless for our customers and will be performed at the end of the growing season as to not disrupt your efforts.
