Topcon Precision Agriculture has  announced that Alex J. Burge of Mount Vernon, Iowa, has been named regional technical manager for the Midwest United States.

In his new position he will be responsible for working directly with dealers and end users providing technical training as well as resolving technical issues. His territory includes nine upper Midwestern states stretching from Illinois to Montana.

Burge has more than 10 years of experience in the agricultural industry, having held positions in precision farming technology with Heartland Technology Solutions and Ag Leader Technology.

Burge will report to Michael Bourke, TPA director of sales, who said, “Alex’s extensive background in different phases of the precision agriculture industry as well as his technical experience is a perfect fit as technical liaison between Topcon and its dealers and end users.”

Burge said, “Working in the agriculture industry for more than 10 years, I am very familiar with the technologically advanced systems and software that Topcon Precision Ag offers. This is an exciting opportunity to help continue providing exemplary technical assistance to Topcon dealers and customers.”

Burge has an associate’s degree in agri-marketing technologies and a bachelor of science degree from Iowa State University in agricultural business with a minor in agronomy.
