Emerald Park, Sask. — SeedMaster Mfg and sister company Dot Technology Corp. have filled two major leadership roles in recent months, strengthening an already formidable management team.
The Beaujot family (owners of SeedMaster/DOT) embarked on the executive recruitment journey a few months ago, looking for individuals who were: well versed in collaborative business building in the agriculture industry, invigorated by change and innovation, and willing to roll up their sleeves, dig in and lead SeedMaster and DOT.
Norbert Beaujot, President and Founder of both companies said that the new appointees, Jeffrey Bourassa as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Leah Olson as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) checked off all those boxes and then some. “We’re excited to welcome these two amazing leaders and business builders aboard to keep the DOT and SeedMaster entities generating momentum with our innovative, game-changing agricultural technology,” said Beaujot.

The first to be appointed was Jeffrey Bourassa as CFO at the end of March. Bourassa is a CPA, CA by trade and was born, raised, and schooled in Saskatchewan. The CFO brings 15 years of business experience focused on leadership, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and accounting to the team. His experience spans all phases of the business life-cycle and includes both private and publicly listed companies in a host of industries. Bourassa is excited to work with both companies for different reasons: SeedMaster because it has a track record of bringing leading edge technology to market and DOT because of the chance to play a part in an endeavor that will forever change the way farming is done.
“I’m thrilled and honored to be working with such a visionary group of people and a portfolio of technologies that are changing the agricultural industry. The investment in senior management talent shows ownership’s vote of confidence in their existing business model and will help secure their role in the future of farming,” said Bourassa.
The search for a CEO lead SeedMaster/DOT to Leah Olson who has been the president of the Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada (AMC) since March 2015. While Olson brings extensive knowledge about the agricultural equipment manufacturing industry, she also brings a strong background in finance and operations, having worked at senior levels in the pharmaceutical and transportation industries. Leah holds an MBA in finance from Queen’s University as well as a master’s degree in public policy and public administration from Concordia University.
“The foundation that Norbert (SeedMaster/DOT founder and president) has built will no doubt allow us to retain, attract and build a great team to ensure the commercial success not only of SeedMaster but also of DOT. Throughout my interactions with the SeedMaster/DOT teams, I have always been impressed by their can-do attitude,” stated Olson.
