Today, Titan Machinery is a publicly traded company and is one of the largest ag dealership groups in North America. But it wasn’t always that way.
Before getting involved in the farm equipment industry as a dealer, David Meyer cut his teeth working for Case right out of college in 1975. But his time with the OEM was short lived and he knew he’d much prefer to work on the dealer end of things. By November 1975 he was working for a dealership in North Dakota.
Along the way, he teamed up with Tony Christianson and later Peter Christianson to form what we know today as Titan Machinery in 1980.
In 2006, the group was selected as Farm Equipment’s Dealership of the Year. At that point, Titan owned and operated 29 dealer locations. At one point the company operated more than 100 retail locations. After some significant restructuring the past few years, today the company operates a network of 74 stores in the U.S. and 33 stores in Europe.
Today, Titan Machinery includes U.S. locations in North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Colorado, and Arizona, and European locations in Germany, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Ukraine.
