According to a report from News Channel Nebraska, 27-store John Deere dealership AKRS Equipment plans to introduce state-of-the-art facilities to support John Deere's autonomous tractors.
The company announced an upgrade to its David City, Neb., location that will be its first use of its "new AKRS Signature Design." Construction on the new building will begin in spring 2022 and is planned to be completed in the summer of 2023.
Kevin Clark, chief executive officer of AKRS Equipment, said the 40,000 square feet of service space will be equipped with the latest technology to serve customers most efficiently.
“With the recent introduction of John Deere autonomous tractors, it is imperative that our dealership also introduce state-of-the-art facilities to support such advanced precision ag technologies," said Kent Kirchhoff, VP Sales and Marketing for AKRS Equipment.
Director of Aftermarket at AKRS Equipment Glen Hochstein said the upgrade will increase the dealership's capacity and include extra-large service bays and "many amenities."
