AgTech startup Salin 247 tested the prototype of its autonomous, electric 4-row planter.
The Iowa-based company is building a platform for small, lightweight, electric-powered, autonomous crop production machines and providing a range of services related to the operation of these machines.
This video shows a test run of Salin 247’s prototype planter. The company says the next step is conducting field trials with growers.
Ag Startup Engine, located in the Iowa State University Research Park, made an initial investment in Salin 247 in October, citing the need for autonomous equipment to help with labor shortages and improve soil health.
Salin 247 says it will increase the profitability and sustainability of crop production by changing the way farmers raise crops.
