Avoid These 3 Assumptions to Accelerate Agtech Adoption
Many agtech startups have great ideas but no clear plan for customer adoption of their technology. They often make 3 detrimental assumptions, which can be lessons for precision specialists and sales people working with customers to try new precision technology. This article from the Future of Agriculture gives some tips on getting farmers’ buy-in and accelerating adoption of precision ag.
360 Yield Center Shows 360 RAIN at Work in Corn Field
A new video from 360 Yield Center shows the 360 RAIN autonomous irrigation unit making its first of 10 passes for the season applying hog manure to V4 corn. 360 RAIN follows an RTK path created by a planter and delivers water, nitrogen and micronutrients directly to the base of the plant.
Market the Problem You Solve When Selling Precision
As the average American is bombarded with up to 10,000 ads per day, dealers need to take a unique approach to marketing to stand out from the crowd. In this AgTech Marketing Insights article, Dan Schulz outlines the path to earning customers’ trust. “It is not inherently evident to our target market that the problem we solve is the one that they need to prioritize solving for their business. If they don’t prioritize your problem, they will pass on your solution to that problem every time.”
Autonomy’s Potential to Bring Transparency to Farming
Savings on labor, fuel and inputs aren’t the only factors that will drive farmers’ adoption of autonomy, according to Praveen Penmetsa, CEO of autonomous electric tractor manufacturer Monarch Tractor. Penmetsa envisions autonomy bringing more transparency to farming, as he explains in this video interview with CNET. “Once we provide an electric automated tool, it allows the farmer to tell the story of what’s happening on the farm, using our data, back to the consumer.” Monarch, you may remember, has a multi-year licensing agreement for electrification technologies with CNH Industrial.
Robot of the Week: FarmWise’s Titan Autonomous, Herbicide-Free Weeder
FarmWise’s Titan robot uses artificial intelligence to detect and remove weeds growing in vegetable fields. The autonomous machine’s 12 mechanical arms pull weeds with centimeter accuracy. Watch it at work in this YouTube video.
