Ukraine Increases use of Precision Farming in Light of War
Morten Schmidt, CEO of OneSoil, joined CNBC International to discuss the importance of precision farming during the war in Ukraine. OneSoil Scouting, a free app that remotely observes crop development, currently has over 50,000 users in Ukraine, where fertilizer and seeds are scarce and land availability has been reduced. The maximization of inputs has never been more critical for Ukrainian farmers, Schmidt says.
Greeneye Technology System Turns Sprayer into Smart Machine
We catch up with Greeneye CEO and Co-Founder Nadav Bocher for a deep dive into the company’s green-on-green spray system, which has proven to reduce herbicide usage by 90% while delivering the same, or better, efficacy as broadcast spraying.
The Impact of Precision Ag in the South
The WABE Tech Cast packs a lot of content into this 13-minute podcast from the Peach State. The hosts visit a peanut farm in central Georgia to explore the role of technology in farming and how it’s helping local growers deal with rising costs and fewer resources. A precision ag expert from UGA and AGCO’s head of technology also join the conversation.
Drones Proving Beneficial on Farms and Research Trials
This article from Farm Progress explores how drones are carving out useful roles in the farming industry, from conducting fungicide efficacy trials to obtaining highly accurate stand counts for crops in fields and plots.
An Autonomous Ride at FPS
In this video, Precision Farming Dealer editors take a ride in John Deere’s AutoTrac equipped Gator Utility Vehicle at the Farm Progress Show. Filming while driving wasn’t as difficult (or dangerous) as it looked, thanks to an assist from the AutoTrac technology!
