A trip to the Precision Farming Dealer Summit is becoming an annual tradition for Greenway Equipment. A total of 24 precision ag leaders and managers from the Arkansas-based John Deere dealership have attended the event over the past 3 years.
“We use the event to generate new ideas for services and it’s a great team-building opportunity outside of the dealership,” Jeremy Bullington says. “Interacting with each other outside of the dealership is critical for retention and teamwork.”
As Greenway's Precision Ag Support Manager, Bullington is responsible for project management and day-to-day coordination of the 32-location dealership’s Precision Ag Support Center, along with supervision of 4 full-time employees.
Several years ago, the dealership was looking for a way to get seasoned staff members out of the office to interact with other precision ag professionals, Bullington says. The Precision Farming Dealer Summit presented the perfect solution.
Greenway prefers to send multiple attendees so they can divide and conquer, maximizing their return on investment.
“Bringing more people allows us to attend multiple sessions at once,” Bullington says. “The experience helps us gauge where we are from an innovation standpoint and where we want to go next.”
The shared team experience also makes it easier to implement new ideas when they return to the dealership, Bullington says.
“Having several people with the same vision makes execution much faster. The value of attending comes from having new ideas planted, and principles discussed, so that we can build on the ideas and successes of others in the industry.
“The Summit is a great event and has always provided a lot of good content and time to work together offsite.”
