Crystal Valley Cooperative made the most of its trip to the Precision Farming Dealer Summit, where they were named Most Valuable Dealership in 2019. 7 employees traveled from Lake Crystal, Minn. to Indianapolis for the two-day conference.

“We were able to split up and hit every breakout session,” says Jason Leary, Crystal Valley Ag Technology Manager. “We didn’t have to pick and choose. It gave everyone more to talk about on the way home and the week after.”

Crystal Valley’s group included their VP of agronomy, a precision manager, 2 precision equipment specialists and 3 precision agronomists. Leary found it more thought-provoking to send a group rather than a single attendee, and ultimately made it easier to share information with teammates back home.

The group maximized networking opportunities by stepping out of their comfort zones. Leary encouraged his team to split up and sit at different tables during meals.

“While some were more hesitant to split up than others, everyone ended up having good conversations with other people from across the country,” he says. “I really valued the networking time during the event.”
