AGCO, Case IH, Deere Leaders Take Part in OEM Panel Discussion
AGCO’s Seth Crawford, Case IH’s Kendal Quandahl and John Deere’s Matt Olson shared the stage at the Precision Farming Dealer Summit in St. Louis. The company leaders jumped at the chance to address elite precision dealers about their strategic direction for business, outlook on autonomy and the approaches embraced by the best-performing dealers in their networks.
The Worst Tech Predictions of All Time
Consider this the technology version of Freezing Cold Takes. Trung Phan highlights some of the worst tech predictions ever made, including this one about cars in 1903: “The automobile is a fad, a novelty. Horses are here to stay.” This article may not be ag related but serves as a fun reminder to take some of those precision hot takes with a grain of salt.
Former Precision Dealer Tim Norris Named ‘Outstanding No-Till Farmer’
Tim Norris was recognized at the Ohio No-Till Council Conference for his successful blend of no-till, cover crops and technology on his Knox County farm. Norris found Ag Info Tech in 2004, a precision ag dealer focused on helping customers be more efficient, accurate and profitable through reliable technology, products and service. He sold the last portion of the business in early 2019. Norris has been a speaker at both the Precision Farming Dealer Summit and Dealership Minds Summit.
Inside Look: John Deere’s ExactShot
John Deere had the Las Vegas strip buzzing with its ExactShot debut at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this month. ExactShot allows farmers to reduce the amount of starter fertilizer needed during planting by more than 60%, according to Deere. Check out this Farm Journal video for a breakdown of how it works.
