Readers of Precision Farming Dealer have long turned to “What Farmers Want From You!” content and now this insightful learning comes alive on-stage, as growers Tim Norris and Joe Hamilton explain their approach to precision, the drivers behind their hardware and subscription package purchases, their precision pain points and more during a "call-it-like-you-see-it" farmer-to-dealer discussion at the 2024 Precision Farming Dealer Summit, Jan. 8-9 in Indianapolis.
Tim Norris no-tills 800 acres of corn, soybeans, wheat and sunflowers in central Ohio. A precision-focused farmer, he was the recipient of the Ohio No-Till Council’s Outstanding Farmer Award in 2022 and named an Ohio Master Farmer by the Ohio Farmer Magazine in 2023. Norris also founded Ag Info Tech, which was named Precision Farming Dealer’s Most Valuable Dealer.
Joe Hamilton was a mechanical engineer for 12 years before becoming a full time farmer in 2015. He now farms about 2,500 acres with his family in Muncie, Ind. "I run the farm as a continuous experiment, trying to make things better and optimize the outcome,” he says.
Norris and Hamilton will share perspective on how farmers are pushing the envelope with precision technology, what problems technology solves — and creates — for farmers and what dealers need to do in precision to earn farmers' wholegoods purchases.
