Dealer of the Year’s Approach to Mainstreaming Precision Ag
Sydenstricker Nobbe Partners (2021 Farm Equipment Dealership of the Year) CEO Ted Briscoe explains why the dealership has moved toward the “specialist” format to elevate the precision knowledge of all the dealership’s staff. The dealership developed a program to run parallel to the mainstreaming process, through which the dealership can have a core group of precision experts with two key focuses: changing the narrative on precision over the next 3-5 years from focusing on pricing to the value the technology brings and consolidating product knowledge via “specialists” in certain categories of equipment.
The Farm Data Value Paradox
Ag engineer Raymond King explores how farmers can unlock the true value of ag data, and identifies which companies are leading the way in doing so. “While there are other factors at play, such as the economic backdrop and access to investment; it seems that there could be a pradox when it comes to farm data value,” King says in this LinkedIn post. “It’s like a precious artifact in a museum. You can see it, but you can’t touch it.”
New Sap Analysis Technology Boosts Crop Quality & Yields
John Kempf, Advancing Eco Agriculture founder, shares how his company is using plant sap analysis to help farmers improve their profitability. Kempf says growers can detect crop deficiencies up to 28 days earlier than they could if they were just using tissue analysis. “This early warning system enables timely corrective action,” Kempf says. “We can correlate specific pests or diseases with nutritional profiles, predicting susceptibility weeks in advance and adjusting nutritional applications to prevent and reverse pressure effectively and precisely.”
Secondary Use for Your Spray Drone: It’s a Boy!
Birkey’s Farm Store customers Austin & Polly Boes use a spray drone for their baby’s gender reveal.
