More than 150 area member-owners and guests joined the Wheat Growers' Frederick agronomy staff to celebrate the opening of the Wheat Growers Frederick Agronomy Center. The new 10,400-square-foot center features a 60,000-gallon liquid fertilizer plant and a state-of-the-industry seed treating system.
"It's nice to see that Wheat Growers investing in our community with a facility like this. At our last fire department meeting we got a tour of this facility and we learned there's water storage here that we can take advantage of, so that's a very good asset to have for our department and the community."

"We provide ag chemical sales, fertilizer, seed and custom application for liquid and dry," Corey Siefkes, the Location Supervisor at Frederick, said. "We also do strip tilling and we have agronomists available to help with any questions and needs."
The Frederick Agronomy Center is another Wheat Growers investment that will provide benefits to member-owners and the community for years to come. Glen Crawford is on the Wheat Growers Board of Directors, and says this is another example of delivering services more effectively.
"It's all about getting closer to the customer and getting the customer back to the field faster to increase their productivity," Crawford said. "Travel time alone makes this a great addition, because this center is in a good location with good roads leading to it, so farmers can get in, get their seed and get back to the field in minimal time rather than having to drive all the way to Aberdeen."
The Agronomy Center also brings benefits to the town of Frederick. Scott Campbell is President of the First National Bank in Frederick, a member of the Frederick town council and also on the Frederick Volunteer Fire Department.
"It's nice to see that Wheat Growers is investing in our community with a facility like this," Campbell said. "At our last fire department meeting we got a tour of this facility and we learned there's water storage here that we can take advantage of, so that's a very good asset to have for our department and the community."
