AgGateway’s Data Privacy and Security Committee has published a white paper to help the agriculture industry consider ways to incorporate data privacy best practices and standards into their operations.

AgGateway announced today that President and CEO Rod Conner is resigning effective Jan. 1, 2015, in order to lead the newly formed AgGateway Global Network; and that current Executive Vice President and COO Wendy Smith will move into the role of AgGateway President and CEO beginning in 2015.

AgGateway's Precision Agriculture Irrigation Leadership (PAIL) Project will hold a demonstration on June 11 at AgGateway's Mid-Year Meeting in Altoona, Iowa, to show equipment and software manufacturers how growers and irrigation consultants can access and send data in PAIL format as they develop and execute an irrigation plan. Full field testing is planned for late summer, and a proposed set of guidelines will be submitted in late November 2014.

AgGateway has created two new committees to formalize the ongoing work of its member companies: the Data Privacy and Security Committee and the Architecture Committee.

AgGateway will begin initial testing this week on its Standardized Precision Ag Data Exchange (SPADE) Conversion Toolbox. The test will take place in Lincoln, Neb., at PlugFest, an agricultural machinery compatibility testing event organized by the Agricultural Electronics Manufacturers Foundation (AEF) and hosted by the National Tractor Testing Lab.

Making irrigation water and energy conservation more efficient through technology is the goal behind a new project sponsored by AgGateway and the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance known as PAIL (Precision Ag Irrigation Leadership).

AgGateway’s Precision Ag Council has launched a new project that will improve the data exchange processes that drive the use of precision agriculture field equipment for such major operations as seeding, tillage, spraying, fertilizing and harvesting.
