CNH Industrial N.V. announced on Nov. 30 that it has completed its acquisition of Raven Industries, a U.S.-based leader in precision agriculture technology.
Jenner Precision hosted a field day demo with Raven Autonomy, combining oats, to show farmers how the technology works and the loading and unloading process. The dealership has found that showing the customer first hand how the technology works and the efficiencies gained with it makes the customer realize the benefits of having autonomous equipment.
It’s not news that the precision farming market is shifting. However, the news earlier this week that CNH Industrial was acquiring Raven Industries certainly came as a surprise.
The acquisition builds upon a long partnership between the two companies and will further enhance CNH Industrial’s position in the global agriculture equipment market by adding strong innovation capabilities in autonomous and precision agriculture technology.
Last week, I shadowed Dave Thompson in Amboy, Ill. He’s a precision farming specialist with Case IH dealer Johnson Tractor. He tells me most of his customers were done with harvest by the middle of October.
