CNN interviews mechanical engineer Josie Hughes about the development of her raspberry-picking robot. “Right now, our robot is optimized for precision and not speed, whereas humans are good at precision and speed,” Hughes says. “We are working on accelerating the robot’s work process, to be half the speed of a person – such that if the robot operated for twice as long as a person, it would be comparable.”
