SDSU Instructor Named ‘Klingbeil Endowed Educator’
Recently, Nicholas Uilk, an agriculture instructor at South Dakota State University (SDSU), was named the inaugural Klingbeil Endowed Educator in precision agriculture. Uilk was given the prestigious title of an Endowed Educator, for the work that he has done in starting the precision agriculture program at SDSU, developing new courses and significantly increasing enrollment in the university’s agricultural program, among many other achievements.
Rantizo Raises Over $6 Million to Scale Automation Orchestration
In the latest edition of Upstream Ag, Shane Thomas reports on Rantizo’s freshly raised capital. He also writes, “The increasing interest in drones for data acquisition and spray application shines through in the number of drones being flown as well. At the end of 2022, there were over 200,000 DJI units alone being used within agriculture on a cumulative area of more than 200 million hectares globally, according to a recent DJI report.
Future of Farming on Display at FIRA USA 2023

Looking Back: ‘I Didn’t Listen to My Uncle Roy’
Reflecting on the farm equipment industry’s history, Jon Eis, COO of Eis Implement in Two Rivers, Wis., writes “Getting that big black plastic suitcase from John Deere with a sticker on it that said “Greenstar.” As a teenager, I remember seeing it up against the wall in the shop with dust all over it. Curious, I asked “what is that?” My uncle, Roy, the sales manager and part owner at the time, said “Don’t waste your time with that, we will never sell one of those around here.” I didn’t listen…”
Wisconsin AGCO Dealer Teams up with Sabanto
Vanderloop Equipment shared this video on LinkedIn, showcasing a driverless Fendt tractor equipped with the Sabanto autonomy kit. Precision Farming Dealer went behind the scenes with Sabanto earlier this year as the company worked to bring its kit to the market.
