Poll Shows Many Farmers Likely to Slow Tech Upgrades in 2025

The results are in from a recent AgWeb poll asking farmers where they plan to cut costs this year. More than 1,300 farmers responded to the poll question. 79% said it’s likely they’ll reduce machinery costs, 61% will likely use generic products, 60% will likely slow technology upgrades and 40% will likely reduce fertilizer costs. “Technology is one of those things where a lot of guys are still trying to get their arms around what they’ve got,” says Casey Seymour, general manager of Machinery Pete. “And I think so they’re looking at it going like, ‘I don’t really need to add a new gadget this year. Let’s get was kind of figure out what we’ve got right now. Let’s utilize those efficiencies. Let’s get through 2025, and let’s take a look at 2026 and see what we’re going to do equipment wise and technology wise.'"

Dealers Gather at Precision Planting Winter Conference

The Swiderski Equipment precision team shared these photos on Facebook from their trip to the Precision Planting Winter Conference in Tremont, Ill., last week. The conference was also livestreamed at remote locations throughout the Corn Belt, including Wisconsin Dells (which we attended). It was action-packed with sessions on new spraying and planting technology, autonomy, data management strategies, cutting-edge soil sampling systems and more!
