A new crop of young people is entering the business of ag, and one new entry point is the Dakota Precision Ag Center at Lake Region State College in Devils Lake — a program that touts an up-close and personal approach.
Kevin Butt, Professor of Agriculture, Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Falls, Iowa: “The biggest thing is for the companies to just be themselves. This is who we are. Don’t try to oversell yourself or make the dealership into something it’s not. Then students or graduates know exactly what they’re getting into and they’re not being promised things you can’t actually offer.
Students in the region will have an opportunity to enroll in a unique curriculum this fall at Lake Region State College’s Dakota Precision Ag Center – a two-year precision ag degree.
