On April 26, Lessiter Media Inc. (which publishes Precision Farming Dealer) attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Life Sciences Communication Department (part of the College of Agricultural & Life Sciences) Student & Donor Reception for the presentation of the annual Frank Lessiter Ag Media Scholarship. The scholarship was established in 2013 to recognize company founder and chairman Frank Lessiter (a dairy science major who discovered journalism late in his college career), while encouraging students interested in agricultural trade media.
This year’s scholar is Alizabeth Grady, a sophomore who majoring in Life Science Communications with a certificate in ag business management. Liz is also a FFA state officer. Upon graduating in 2020, the Oregon, Wis., native plans to pursue a career in ag communications and help communicate the informational needs of farmers and ranchers.
Previous recipients of the annual scholarship include: Josie Dallam (2013), Cassandra Endres (2014), Katlynn Rodgers (2015) and Jordan Gaal (2017).
